 "Competitions & Clients. Is there a difference? " Cris & Deanna Duncan

Is this picture good? What can I do different next time? Do you see anything you would change? These are questions we all ask about our work. How do you get answers to these inquires? Where do I start? One way is to get critiques and enter competitions. 

In this program,  Cris and Deanna Duncan will be your guides along the sometimes murky waters of competitions, critiques and image evaluation using the 12 Elements of an image as a standard. Cris and Deanna will also lead you through real critiques from IPC competitors as well as giving you the opportunity to view these images from a fresh perspective. 

You will not only understand more about the objective and subjective sides of photography, but also that Competition images and your everyday work aren't as different as you may think. 






Cris and Deanna Duncan operate C j Duncan Photography in Lubbock, Texas. They have had the honor of photographing everything from weddings to families to corporate clients and even two Presidents. In over fifteen years, they have been published in numerous national magazines and acquired many industry accolades including GIA (Grand Imaging Award). However, what means the most is their daughter, family and the life they lead working together in the art form they love. Cris and Deanna are both contributors to PPA EDU, Texas School instructors as well as frequent speakers at Imaging USA. Cris is also an approved CPP instructor, IPC juror and the founder of Find Your Find Your Focus Photographic Education.



West Texas Photographers is an association made up of professional, enthusiast and student photographers from the Lubbock, Amarillo, Midland, Abilene areas of Texas and Eastern New Mexico.
