"From Environmental Photography to Studio Fine Art: How to Transform " with molly boulay

Have you ever dreamed of pursuing a different genre of photography but were afraid to make a drastic change? That was Molly 6 years ago. She had been running a successful senior portrait studio for almost 15 years at the time, but felt called to pursue Fine Art portraiture. Although she dabbled a bit in the Fine Art portrait world, she maintained her senior and family portrait business, leaving her little time and energy to start essentially a new business. Then, last year she took a leap of faith and launched Boulay Fine Art Portraiture. Molly will explain how she accomplished this and hopefully give you the courage to pursue whatever type of photography brings you joy and actually make money doing so.

Molly Brown-Boulay, Certified Professional Photographer and Master Photographer, has been striving for success in her portrait business, Boulay Photography, for over 20 years. In 2022 Molly established Boulay Fine Art Portraiture, a studio based fine art business. Molly is an award-winning photographer based in Franklin, Tennessee, just outside of Nashville. A long-time member of the Professional Photographers of America, her work has been featured in Luxury Home Magazine, Senior Year Magazine, Senior Muse Magazine, Knoxville Magazine, and Nashville Parent. She has won multiple awards at the state level and was a Grand Imaging Award Finalist in the 2021 Southeastern District Photographic Competition. She loves a good Period Drama—both in movies and novels—and can be found riding her bike or running all over Williamson County in her spare time. Molly is a wife to Dennis and proud mother to three amazing children who are currently pursuing their own brands of success in college, post-graduate school, and the work world. Her middle daughter has a side hustle as a photographer and will hopefully one day take over Molly's business so she can retire!
